A life in our hands

Feeding young animals, sometimes directly after birth, is a task involving a great deal of responsibility. The slightest mistake can lead to choking or the refusal to eat. Safe, clean but simple feeding is essential for the start of a new life.

“AniMam” teats provide an excellent foundation for exactly this.

Small or large?

A cat needs a different teat than a hamster.

In order to feed the animals safely according to their size, we offer three “AniMam” teats.

The “Mini” nipple is suitable for mice to young hedgehogs.

Our “Midi” is perfect for kittens, degus, chinchilla, larger squirrels or martens.

The “Maxi” nipple is popular for small dog breeds,but also for rabbits or young foxes.

The small radius and the pliable material can be easily clasped by the little paws. The receding lip prevents milk from seeping into the nose.

Safety and protection

You invest a lot of time in rearing animals and caring for them. And as is often the case, it’s all in the little details. “AniMam” teats are the first choice for safe and hygienic feeding.

Free of toxins and durable

Our “AniMam” teats are produced in Germany. The material used is certified for the production of baby teats and soothers. It does not contain any harmful substances and can therefore be used without reservation.

Unlike conventional nipples on the market, “AniMam” teats can be sterilised and boiled. We guarantee that even after multiple sterilisation processes and months of use, no parts, no matter how small, will loosen or become detached.

This makes feeding your animals not only safe but also very hygienic. The spreading of bacteria and viruses is prevented. Supporting animals in need with good feeding as they take their first steps in life need not require a miracle.

Our “AniMam” teats are (and will remain) transparent. Even after numerous sterilisation cycles.

This is particularly helpful with very small animals, as there is no “surprise” when feeding. It also simplifies the administration of medication. You can see instantly whether the medicine has reached the animal’s little snout, even with small doses.

Another advantage: The material is very soft to the touch and, because it is transparent, the teat is not rejected by the animal as it is perceived but does not seem threatening. Grooves in the lip support “milk treading”.

The teats fit commercial syringes from 1 ml to 10 ml with a Luer-lock fitting (with tip). Of course, Luer-lock syringes can also be used. Ideally from “AniMam” as our syringes are especially designed for feeding purposes. The teats also fit tightly on many small bottles, such as those from “Trixie” or “Behapahr”.

About us

We have been involved in the care of wild animals, especially squirrels, for years.

We look after squirrels that are only a few days old, but of course also after adult animals that have had accidents. In addition to providing safe, clean shelter, the proper medical care and correct feeding are of great importance when it comes to caring for the animals. Feeding young animals in particular requires a fair amount of sensitivity. We tested different nipples - from the USA and from China. While some were too big or could not be boiled, others started to get brittle, sticky and having a bad odour.

So we teamed up with a producer of baby teats to improve this and developed the “AniMam” teat. Our aspiration is to offer the same quality for our animals as for babies, as well as the correct size for different animals.

After trying out various angles, radiuses and diameters, we were able to launch the first “AniMam” nipple in 2021. They were very well received. But as there is always room for improvement, we have continued to develop the teats and are very pleased to be able to offer the second generation “AniMam” teats throughout Europe and Africa.

It is also great to see how well our own squirrels have taken to the “AniMam” teats. Unlike before, there were almost no problems with the feed intake. The animals were quick to adapt to the new feeding method.
